The sun was shining, the water was inviting, and the reels were spinning at Rumors Bar and Grill for the 7th Annual LRLA Carp Contest. Though the fish seemed a bit shy this year, our seasoned anglers knew it’s all about playing the hand you’re dealt—and what a contest it was!
Nathan Bangsund tipped the scales as our first-place winner, reeling in a hefty carp weighing in at 19.5 lbs. Hot on his heels was Ryan Barthel with a 19 lb. beauty. Not to be outdone, Evan Haag secured the third spot with an 18.1 lb. catch. Kudos to the champions!
As for the total weight category, Ryan Barthel and his squad demonstrated some serious skills by hauling in a total of 269.1 lbs. of carp. In a valiant effort, David Heying and his crew secured the second spot, missing the mark by just a whisker with 143.1 lbs.
We’re sending a massive thank-you to all participants for another fantastic year of camaraderie and sport. Can’t wait to see what next year brings!
